The Strela Blok is a Strela SAM rigged for automatic launch supposedly with an acostic sensor and a timer to allow the placement team to get away. Do anyone have any further reliable information? Have this been tried with later russian MANPADS?

The only note I found about it long time ago was IIRC in "Spetznaz" by Suvorov. So I would be careful with it ;)

Saw it mentioned in the book "Guerilla Air Defence" by James Crabtree. It has a simple drawing of a Strela mounted in a tree.
Searched and found "Spetsnaz" by Suvorov as well.

Wouldn`t really count any of these as credible sources, so I kinda hoped someone on this Grate site knew something more specific. mayby someone has a little manual laying about? :-)

Never mind, I just checked and their is nothing there. :(
