A British nuclear-powered submarine has been damaged after it hit rocks in the Red Sea, defence officials say.

HMS Superb hit an underwater rock on 26 May and damage to its sonar equipment forced it to surface.

HMS Superb is a Swiftsure.
If I remember correctly, she is to be decommissioned in the course of 2008 or 2009 anyway.

It probably just hit another one of these non-Euclidean intrusions into normal space. Or possibly the earthquake in China had some unforeseen consequences on distant underwater topology.

Certainly nothing to worry about. http://www.the-emperor.org/graphics/forticons/cthulhu_smiley.gif

Reading "Silent Steel" and collisions / groundings seem to be pretty common among US Submarines
It sounds like the Sea Wolf (SSN-575) would have been lost if it was not for SUBSAFE modifications
